DESCRIPTION:Join us as we sail from Portsmouth to Santander to enjoy the best roads in the Pyrenees\, before heading south\, across Spain to Portugal\, through the stunning Picos de Europa mountains. We’re then driving on to Serra da Estrela\, before heading north again for our return ferry. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRoute summary:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nFriday: \n\n\n\nChoose to arrive early in Portsmouth for a quick bite to eat and introductions\, or join us at the port to catch our ferry from Portsmouth to Santander\, scheduled for a 9:30PM departure. You’ll have accommodation in an ensuite\, outside cabin (with window)\, on the ferry crossing. \n\n\n\nSaturday: \n\n\n\nGet plenty of sea air and rest as we sail across the Bay of Biscay heading for Santander.   \n\n\n\nSunday: \n\n\n\nArriving in Santander at 8:00AM\, we’ll have our morning briefing on board before disembarking and heading for a play in the Pyrenees\, while making our way to our first hotel\, located in the centre of the Pyrenees. \n\n\n\nMonday: \n\n\n\nYesterday we covered some real distance\, so we’ll have chilled out start today. We don’t need to pack our bags as we have two nights here\, right in the centre of the Pyrenees\, with some of the best views and driving roads in all directions. Remember your passport as we’ll be border hoping between Spain and France today. \n\n\n\n\nViews from Roure des Chalets de l’Arc in the French Pyrenees.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTuesday: \n\n\n\nAfter breakfast and our morning briefing\, we’ll head towards Pamplona using\, as always\, the most entertaining route and roads to get us to our next hotel smiling. \n\n\n\nWednesday: \n\n\n\nWe’ve a few hours to spare on the roads in the mountains above Pamplona this morning\, before heading south into the stunning Picos de Europa mountain range\, a vast area of Spain covered almost entirely by national parks.  \n\n\n\nThursday: \n\n\n\nYou can leave your belongings at the hotel this morning\, as we’ll be returning for a second night. After breakfast and morning briefing\, we’ll be heading out on a vast expanse of quality driving roads in the Picos de Europa mountain range\, before returning to our hotel. \n\n\n\n\nThe Picos de Europa mountain range in Spain.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFriday: \n\n\n\nWe’ll be staying in the Picos de Europa this morning\, winding our way further south through the national park heading to Portugal. Driving on fantastically twisty\, never ending roads\, we’ll be heading towards the Serra da Estrela mountain range and our next hotel. \n\n\n\nSaturday: \n\n\n\nNo need to pack your bags again this morning\, as we are returning to the hotel for a second night. After breakfast and morning briefing we’ll set off into the deserted mountain roads of the Serra da Estrela mountain range\, right on our doorstep. Today we’ll head north to explore the northern areas.  \n\n\n\n\nSpectacular views from the famous Superbagneres in the French Pyrenees.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSunday: \n\n\n\nWe’re staying in the Serra da Estrela mountains today\, but heading south for our last full day driving in Portugal. Tomorrow we’ll be heading back across Spain. \n\n\n\nMonday: \n\n\n\nAn early start for our final day of driving today! Leaving our hotel in the Serra da Estrela region\, we’ll head cross country towards the port in Santander. We can’t be late for the ferry\, but let’s use the best roads available to get us there! The ferry leaves Santander at 5:00PM heading for Plymouth. There’s normally a relaxed party atmosphere on the ferry home as we reminisce about the experience. \n\n\n\nTuesday: \n\n\n\nWe will have been sailing through the night making progress as we sleep. Then there’s plenty of time to swap pictures\, videos\, and chat before we arrive back in Plymouth at approximately 2:00PM. \n\n\n\n\nWhat’s included?\n\n\n\n• Outbound and return ferry crossings\, with ensuite\, outside cabin (with window). \n\n\n\n• 9 nights hotel accommodation in a mix of 3 and 4 star hotels (usually with pool)\, with breakfast included. DESCRIPTION:We’re heading north into Scotland for four days driving on some of the best roads you’ll find anywhere! We’ve always felt that Scotland gets overlooked as a driving destination. It shouldn’t be – the roads here rival anywhere in the world! \n\n\n\nWe’re running this trip in May this year. It’s amazing how the scenery changes from spring until the end of summer\, making your visit a totally different experience in 2026.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRoute summary:\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nFriday:\n\n\n\nWe’ll meet at 10:00AM\, north of Glasgow. Make sure you’ve had your breakfast and fuelled up because after our briefing we’re heading off for a full day of driving. Working our way through the beautiful Trossachs\, we’ll be skirting past Loch Lomond in the direction of the Cairngorms national park\, where our first overnight stop awaits. \n\n\n\n\nThe Old Military Road with Glenshee in the background.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday:\n\n\n\nAfter our breakfast and morning briefing we’ll set off\, taking in some local roads before making our way across to the west coast and into “proper Scotland”\, as the scenery ever changes the land becomes less populated and more and more rugged. Our second overnight stop is in the beautiful village and port of Ullapool. \n\n\n\n\nThe views towards Lochrosque.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSunday:\n\n\n\nAfter breakfast and morning formalities\, we’ll set off on our third day of driving. It takes just a few minutes to get out of Ullapool and onto some fantastic driving roads. Today we’re heading further north. It’s remote up here – a tough life for the people who live and work in this harsh environment – true Scotland! Make sure you’re fuelled up as there aren’t many options for fuel on our way to tonight’s hotel.   \n\n\n\n\nThe view towards Ben More from the Kylesku bridge.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMonday:\n\n\n\nThe beaches on the north coast are among the best I’ve ever seen\, clean with beautiful sands. Sunrise is at 5:00AM\, so plenty of time if you fancy a dip before breakfast or a stroll along the beach. Following breakfast we’ll head to John O’Groats\, the most northerly point on the mainland. Then we’re heading south to Inverness\, before passing back through the Cairngorms. DESCRIPTION:We’re off to the Alps for nine days of spirited driving on some truly amazing roads and mountain passes. We’ll be passing through Germany and the Black Forest\, making our way through Switzerland and Austria before descending into Italy\, the furthest point from home on this trip. We’ll then head back over the Alps again via Switzerland and Austria before arriving in France. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRoute summary:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSunday:\n\n\n\nWe’ll meet at 8:00AM at the Le Shuttle terminal building for an introduction before heading off to board our train\, arriving in France just 45mins later. We’ll then travel in convoy using the fabulous French autoroute system\, heading in the direction of Freiburg Germany\, where we’ll spend our first night.   \n\n\n\nMonday:\n\n\n\nAfter breakfast and morning briefing we’ll pack our bags and set off to spend some time on the roads of the Black Forest\, taking in a section of the famous Black Forest road\, working our way towards Ravensburg. We’ll be staying in Germany again this evening close to the border with Switzerland and Austria. \n\n\n\nTuesday:\n\n\n\nThis morning we’ll be driving into Austria\, building in elevation as we take in some of the awesome mountain views and crystal clear lakes as we enter the Tyrol region and make our way across central Austria and into Italy\, where our next hotel awaits. \n\n\n\nWednesday:\n\n\n\nNo need to pack your bags this morning as we are returning to the hotel for a second night. After breakfast and our briefing we’ll set off into this corner of Italy\, wrapped by mountains and most importantly mountain roads! That’s why we’re here! This area is truly spectacular in every way! \n\n\n\nThursday:\n\n\n\nYesterday we dipped into Austria and today we are heading to Switzerland to take in some of their famous and lesser known mountain passé. We’ll be stopping regularly through the day for photo opportunities as the scenery here is just as staggering as the roads.  \n\n\n\nFriday:\n\n\n\nAfter breakfast and morning briefing we’ll pack our bags and set off for lower ground\, skirting Lake Garda first before climbing again\, crossing Switzerland and making our way south on some great driving roads to the French and Italian Alps in the south. \n\n\n\nSaturday:\n\n\n\nAfter breakfast and the daily briefing we’ll head out on the roads. We’re ideally placed\, surrounded by mountain passes in France and Italy. We’ll be out for the day\, stopping for lunch along the route before returning to our hotel. \n\n\n\nSunday:\n\n\n\nWe need to make our way towards Calais today. It’s quite a drive so\, after an early breakfast\, we’ll set off again using the French autoroutes to get us to our hotel in Arders\, about 30mins drive from Calais.  \n\n\n\nMonday:\n\n\n\nOur Le Shuttle train is booked for 10:00AM\, so we’ll have a quick breakfast at the hotel before leaving for our train\, due to be back in the UK at 10:45AM. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat’s included?\n\n\n\n• Outbound and return cross channel trains. \n\n\n\n• 8 nights hotel accommodation in a mix of 3 and 4 star hotels\, with breakfast included. We’ll then travel in convoy using the fabulous French autoroute system\, heading towards Grenoble\, our first overnight stop. \n\n\n\nMonday:\n\n\n\nAfter some breakfast\, we’ll pack our bags and head towards Cannes\, following Route Napoleon\, before heading deeper into the Alps\, taking in the awesome views and of course some of the greatest roads. We’ll be spending the next two nights here at our hotel. \n\n\n\nTuesday:\n\n\n\nNo need to pack your bags this morning as this is the first of two nights at this hotel. After breakfast and the daily briefing we’ll head out on the roads. Not far to go as we’re ideally placed\, surrounded by mountain passes. We’ll be out for the day\, stopping for lunch along the route\, before returning to our hotel. \n\n\n\nWednesday:\n\n\n\nAfter breakfast and our briefing\, we’ll pack our bags\, load up the cars and head out for the second morning of fantastic driving in this area. We’ll have a lunch stop before making our way along some fine roads in the direction of Avignon\, where our next hotel awaits. \n\n\n\nThursday:\n\n\n\nWakey wakey! While it’s still dark\, let’s find a cup of coffee and head to the summit of Mont Ventoux\, beating the cyclists to see the sunrise! What and experience! Now back to the hotel for breakfast. There are then a few hours to play in the surrounding mountains before heading towards the Pyrenees. On route we’ll pass under the engineering masterpiece\, the Millau bridge. \n\n\n\n\nThe stunning Millau Viaduct over the Tarn River valley.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFriday:\n\n\n\nWe’re in the Pyrenees now\, different but just as amazing. Let’s get some breakfast and head deeper into the Pyrenees on some truly spectacular roads\, and head to our next hotel! \n\n\n\n\nDriving the Port de la Bonaigua mountain pass in Cataluna\, Spain.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSaturday:\n\n\n\nNo need to pack your bags this morning as we are staying here for two nights. We’re right in the centre of the Pyrenees\, with great driving roads and views in all directions. Remember your passport as we’ll be border hoping between Spain and France for the next days. \n\n\n\nSunday:\n\n\n\nWe’ll be staying in the Pyrenees again today\, driving on never ending wonderful roads\, heading towards Pampona for our final evening in a hotel. \n\n\n\nMonday:\n\n\n\nThis is our final day of driving in Spain as our ferry leaves Santander at 5:00PM\, heading for Plymouth.
